Competition Dates

The AAEE Spring Membership Competition 2024 beings on Tue 1st October 2024, and closes on Thur 31st October 2024 at 11.59pm AEDT.

Competition Prizes

Win one of three books from amazing environmental educators:

    • ‘Jiggliest Jellyfish’ by Tim Flannery
    • ‘We are the Stars’ by Gina Chick

How to Enter

Anyone can enter the AAEE Spring Membership Competition 2024 by:

    1. Registering as an AAEE member, if you are not currently, in the month of October 2024.
    1. Renewing your AAEE membership, if you are already a member, in the month of October 2024. (When membership is renewed it adds on to your existing membership e.g. if you have 6 months left on your annual membership and you renew for another 12 months, you will have 18 months of membership).
    1. Referring a friend or colleague to be a member. The new member is required to enter the referring members name when completing the registration form. This will give one competition entry for the new member and one entry for the referring member.

By doing any of the above, your name will go in the draw to win one of three wonderful books from amazing environmental educators Costa, Tim Flannery and Gina Chick! Read more about the AAEE Spring Membership Competition terms and conditions here.

Terms and Conditions – AAEE Spring Membership Competition 2024

 

Instructions on how to enter and prize information forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this competition is deemed as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

The promoter is the Australian Association for Environmental Education Inc. (ABN: 80047534235) of PO Box 3133 Weston Creek ACT 2611 (Promoter).

The Competition is a game of chance. No skill needs to be demonstrated, and no judgement is passed for the winner to be determined.

Each valid entry will be entered into a pool, and three winners selected at random.

Entries into the Competition are available by:

  1. Registering and paying as a new member of the Australian Association for Environmental Education, during the month of October 2024. New members will be automatically entered into the Competition pool. All membership categories may enter the competition. One entry per registered member.
  2. Renewing and paying as a member of the Australian Association for Environmental Education, during the month of October 2024. Renewing members will be automatically entered into the Competition pool. All membership categories may enter the competition. One entry per registered member.
  3. Current members may refer a new member. Both will receive one entry into the competition pool. To enter the competition, the new member must register and pay as a member of AAEE, and enter the name of the referring member in the registration form

Other conditions of entry:

  • Multiple entries into the competition pool are permitted. One entry per member per competition category. For example, a current member may renew their membership and refer a new member, receiving two entries.
  • All relevant fields of the membership registration and renewal forms must be entered correctly.
  • Membership registration and payment must be received by 11.59pm AEDT on Thur 31st Oct 2024.
  • Competition starts on 09.00am AEST on Tue 1st Oct 2024
  • Entry is open to any person who qualifies as an AAEE member.

Three winners will be drawn randomly from the competition pool by the Promoter’s staff, and winners notified via email by 30th November 2024. The promotors decision is final. Prizes will be posted to an address provided by the winner. If a prize is unclaimed by 30th Nov 2024, another winner will be selected at random. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize. Winners names will be published in the next available AAEE digital newsletter and on the AAEE website.

The three prizes are books:

  • ‘Costa's World: Gardening for the soil, the soul and the suburbs’ by Costa Georgiadis
  • ‘Jiggliest Jellyfish’ by Tim Flannery
  • ‘We are the Stars’ by Gina Chick

AAEE takes no responsibility for any material that is included in prizes.

The Promoter reserves the right to, at any time, verify an entry or entrant and disqualify an entrant the Promoter has reason to believe has submitted an entry not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

It is a condition of entry that materials submitted to the competition may be used by the Promoter for their own promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes without restriction.

The Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the competition without notice.

The Promoter is not liable for any loss (including loss of opportunity) or damage (including, but not limited to, direct, indirect or inconsequential loss) or personal injury in relation to this competition or the use of, or participation in, the prize.

Privacy Statement

Any Personal Information collected in connection with this competition will be handled in accordance with the promoter's  Privacy Policy. In the course of this competition the Promoter will collect and use Personal Information from entrants, and it is a condition of entry to this competition that an entrant provide the Personal Information to the Promoter.

If an entrant does not provide the Personal Information required by the promoter then that entry will be discarded. If any Personal Information provided to the promoter is inaccurate or incomplete then that entry will not be eligible for any prizes under this competition.

By entering into this competition you consent to your Personal Information being collected, used and disclosed as set out in this competition, and otherwise in accordance with the promoter's Privacy Policy.

By entering into this competition you also consent to the promoter using your name and contact details for future promotional, direct marketing, and publicity material by the promoter. Entrants may opt out of receiving such information by contacting the promoter.

In this clause the following definitions apply:

"Personal Information" has the meaning given to it under the Privacy Act.

"Privacy Act" means the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

"Privacy Policy" means the Australian Association for Environmental Education Inc’s privacy policy available online at: https://www.aaee.org.au/privacy/
